ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) – SOS Rape Crisis

SOS Rape Crisis is a local charity that is dedicated to supporting individuals who have survived sexual violence in our communities.

The local charity provides confidential and non-judgemental support for survivors of any form of sexual abuse that has occurred at any time in their lives – whether it has occurred recently, a long time ago or is still happening.

SOS Rape Crisis supports survivors who live in the area of Southend-on-Sea, Castle Point and Rochford.

SOS Rape Crisis are looking to recruit a full time ISVA for a 12-month contract to provide specialist support to victims going through the Criminal Justice System as well as provide emotional and practical support through Advocacy.

Job Role: ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor)
Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible to meet the needs of the service)
Salary: NJC Scale Point 23 – £26,999 (unqualified) / NJC Scale Point 24 starting point – £27,905 (qualified)
Qualifications: ISVA qualification or agreement to achieve accredited ISVA Level 3 qualification by end of September 2020. (Qualification to be funded by the charity)
Experience: Experience of supporting individuals, Experience of partnership working

– To provide specialist support to victims across Southend on Sea; Castle Point; Rochford, Essex who have been affected by sexual violence.
– Provide emotional & practical support and information to victims and survivors of sexual violence who have reported to the police or are considering reporting to the police.
– Provide practical support through Advocacy where needs arise.
