Bowls Opportunities – Southeast Club | Bowls Development Alliance

I am the Southeast Club and Community Development Officer for the Bowls Development Alliance, a Sport England-funded organisation that works to develop the sport of Bowls in England.  Bowls is a popular sport with low barriers to entry and opportunities to participate throughout the year. It is a sport that people of all ages and abilities can actively enjoy recreationally through to elite competition.

The Common Wealth Games, Birmingham 2022 represents an unparalleled opportunity for the sport. As part of the legacy surrounding the Commonwealth Games and in partnership with Bowls England, the National Governing Bodies and Disability Bowls England, we are aiming to give more people the opportunity to try bowls for the first time. Between the 18th of July and the 28th of August, we want to bring bowls into local communities. We have fully funded Commonwealth Games Bowls Community Activators who will be on hand to deliver fun, informal and fully inclusive sessions at your location and even the opportunity to visit a local bowls club.

If you’re interested in taking part in either a stand-alone or series of sessions across the 6 weeks from the 18th of July to the 28th of August or would like more information about the programme, please don’t hesitate to get in touch on RoryGooding@bowlsdevelopmentalliance.com
