11 Jan CAP Debt Centre Referrals | Christians Against Poverty
In Southend we currently have the Debt Centre, we have a number of people who are trained to run Money Management Courses (budgeting) which are now online, and we recently started running the Life Skills course just before first lockdown.
We now have the capacity to deal with 8 new clients a month. We love to help people and our Debt Help service, as well as the other services we provide, are completely free. We are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and regularly mentioned by Martin Lewis (Money Saving Expert) particularly for our work with people with mental health issues who often need more time and patience.
If you have a particular client who needs a bit more information about the service we provide we are happy to speak to them in advance of them calling the CAP Debt Help number (0800 328 0006). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the potential client’s permission and we will contact them and if necessary help them make the call to the helpline.
Our Debt Help service can be done over the phone or when we can face to face. Currently, we are not able to visit clients in their homes but have been using local church premises. Hopefully, things will change in the next few months and we will be able to revert to home visits.
