Cervical Cancer Prevention Week: #SmearForSmear | Southend Public Health

The Southend Public Health Team are taking part in this year’s Cervical Cancer campaign to raise awareness and increase the uptake of cervical screening appointments, also known as a smear test.

Cervical Screening is one of the best ways to protect yourself against cervical cancer. Cervical screening is not a test for cancer, it’s a test to prevent cancer.

If you have booked an appointment, government guidelines state that you are allowed to attend as this is classed as a medical appointment.
