SAVS are looking to recruit a: Community Builder
37 hours per week to includes occasional evening & weekend working
This post is currently funded until 31 December 2023 and subject to enhanced DBS check
Salary: £20,600 per annum

This role will be working at a neighbourhood level to build confident, more connected communities. This is achieved by identifying and mapping community assets, listening to local people and helping them develop what they want, improving links between services, local groups, initiatives and the community and enabling increased community activity. This role will allow you to
Celebrate and share the wonderful things happening across the City of Southend. You will join the SAVS team as part of our exciting Community Builders project, supporting, connecting and empowering the local communities of Southend.
The role will involve:
- To identify ‘connectors’ from within the local area and encourage them to have conversations with others to map community assets and encourage community led action in response to local passions
- Work with diverse communities across the targeted localities and ensure effective understanding
- To engage with local residents interested in being involved in their community and engage with the appropriate agencies to address their concerns
- To gather the voices and views of local residents / communities and community groups to help build a shared understanding of local priorities which can inform the development of activities and programmes
The successful candidate will have excellent people skills and have the ability to engage with a range of different partners
