Community Investment Board: New Funding Available Now

Dear all,

The Community Investment Board are excited to launch the following funds, which are open to those with a great idea whether already holding funds from the Community Investment Board, who are new to them or seeking funds from more than one of the open pots.

Active Southend – Enabling Southend Residents to get Active
In conjunction with Active Southend the Community Investment Board are administering £10,000 which groups can apply to for up to £1,000 towards enabling Southend residents to get active. The fund can be used to cover venue hire and other costs experienced in encouraging the most inactive to get active in Southend. You might hold a series of sessions, encourage people to attend activities already running, whatever it is this fund could really provide a boost over the coming winter months.

Forward Motion: Smarter Travel Fund – Enabling Healthier Journeys
The Community Investment Board are working with Forward Motion to administer the Smarter Travel of a total £15,000, to which groups can apply for up to £3,000 to encourage Southend residents to take healthier journeys, to work, school, social activities etc. The fund can be used to support work with adults (16+) who currently take part in little or no physical activity to increase their activity levels when making journeys. Activities need to take place in Southend and promote active and sustainable travel. Venue hire, sessional worker costs, promotion, equipment and training can be covered by this fund.

Both funds are now open until 5pm on Monday 31 October. You are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later as although the fund may re-open after the submission deadline once spent they will be closed. To apply please visit https://savs-southend.org/cib/ for more information.
