Coronavirus: Test and Trace update

Please remember, organisations in certain sectors should collect details and maintain records of staff, customers and visitors on their premises to support NHS Test and Trace. More information is available on the Gov website.

If you are a business owner and have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 within your workforce or on your premises, please ensure you immediately call 0300 303 8537 and select Option 1. This will trigger an immediate response from both East of England Health Protection Team and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council.

If you would like support and further guidance in this situation, you can also phone 01702 215 005 and speak to our Regulatory Services Team.

In the unfortunate event of an outbreak within Southend, the control plan in place for the town is available for you to read by clicking here.

There are a range of questions you should review as soon as you can in order to prepare for the possibility that an outbreak occurs in your business. They will help you create a contingency plan. You can view the links to these by visiting the Southend BID website here.

The Government have also produced a range of ‘Action Cards’, which are also linked on the same page. These are cards that have been developed to provide you with key information so you can react quickly in the event of an outbreak in your premises.
