Southend Covid 19 Discretionary Grants (Closing date 29th June)
If your business did not qualify for a small business or retail, hospitality and leisure grant, please check your eligibility for a discretionary grant payment.
These discretionary grants are aimed at certain small and micro businesses:
- with relatively high ongoing fixed property-related costs
- which can demonstrate that they have suffered a significant fall in income due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
- which occupy property, or part of a property, with a rateable value or annual rent or annual mortgage payments below £51,000.
- with fewer than 50 employees.
- that were trading on 11 March 2020.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has been allocated £1,941,750 by the Government to fund these support grants and have worked with business leaders, local groups and support organisations to develop a policy within the guidelines provided by the government. The council are keen to ensure that they are given to the maximum number of businesses, but also has to make sure they do not exceed the government funding allocation.
Applicants will be given priority if they are a:
- small business in a shared office or other flexible workspace – for example, a unit in an industrial park, a science park or an incubator that does not have its own business rates assessment
- regular market trader with fixed building costs, such as rent, but without a business rates assessment
- bed and breakfast that pays council tax instead of business rates
- charity in receipt of Charitable Business Rates Relief, that would otherwise have been eligible for Small Business Rates Relief or Rural Rate Relief
- an Ofsted registered Pre-school nursery with fixed property costs, such as rent, who do not have their own business rates assessment;
- a business that occupies Industrial/Warehouse units (as determined by the VOA on the pro description) with a rateable value over £15,000 but less than £51,000 who are not eligible for the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure grant
- an independent care home
To receive a discretionary grant, businesses need to complete a simple online form on Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s website: www.southend.gov.uk/businessgrants.
Please do not apply for this grant if you have already received one of the other grants. The only exception to this are certain businesses who are eligible for the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS), who are able to apply for this scheme as well.
The council is asking all eligible businesses to apply within a two week window. If you match the criteria for application, please ensure you fill out the form as soon as possible, ideally by Monday 29th June 2020.
Southend Emergency Fund – Open for donations
We have created an emergency fund so the most vulnerable, in the Southend borough, anywhere from Leigh to Shoebury, can obtain the financial help they need to get them through this difficult time. We will be using existing organisations, agencies, community groups and charities, who are already in touch with the most at risk. This will be the fastest way to get help to where it is needed and minimise abuse of the system. We will be able to direct the funds to which ever channels are able to remain open to support those needing help.
Essex Community Foundation – Coronavirus Response and Recovery Programme
Grants of up to £15,000 are available through the Essex Coronavirus Response and Recovery Programme to help voluntary and community organisations that are in crisis as a result of the pandemic and need emergency funding to keep vital services running. Priority will be given to those delivering vital services to older and vulnerable people, organisations helping to relieve pressure on public services and those co-ordinating a local community response.

LATEST COVID 19 Update (09/06/20)
We are still receiving a large number of applications for Emergency funding during these troubled times. I am reporting these back to the Trustees at regular ‘remote’ meetings. Very urgent cases are considered immediately.
Following the latest Emergency meeting, we have been able to offer nearly £50,000 between many local charities and groups (nearly £150,000 since the pandemic began). ECF and the Lottery have both allocated significant funds to help with the immediate effects of the Pandemic, and are continuing their support at this critical time.
However, the Trustees recognise the potential problems which may now arise as communities begin to ease out of the current Lockdown restrictions. The focus of this is for vulnerable children, families and the isolated elderly.

Leigh-on-Sea Town Council Coronavirus Emergency Community Fund
Leigh-on-Sea Town Council’s Coronavirus Emergency Community Fund. £10,000 has currently been set aside for the fund, from an existing volunteer programme but Council will consider further funding in due course if necessary.
External not-for-profits groups/organisations along with charities, are welcome to apply for grants from £250 up to £1000, to directly help support residents within Leigh. Additional applications can also be made again where proof of expenditure is provided.
Applications cannot be considered from political parties, commercial organisations or for projects that benefit individuals, private businesses, projects that fall outside the Town Council remit, or those that improve private land or property.
Grants will be reviewed within one week of being received by a panel of Councillors.

Charities Aid Foundation Launches Coronavirus Emergency Fund (UK) – Currently paused to new applications
The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has launched a new Coronavirus Emergency Fund. Through this fund smaller charities, not for profit organisations, social enterprises and unregistered community groups can apply for grants of up to £10,000 to help them to continue to deliver much needed support to within their communities. The funding is available to help with core costs, staffing, volunteer costs, supplies and equipment, communications or other critical charitable areas. Alpkit Foundation Funding to Support Grassroots Organisations During the Coronavirus
In response to the coronavirus, The Alpkit Foundation are prioritising funding to support projects that demonstrate an immediate impact on those affected by the crisis.
Grants are available to grassroots organisations serving those affected by the outbreak. Funding can provide support for activities which might include
- helping vulnerable and elderly people who are self-isolating,
- supporting the homeless,
- providing access to food, medicines or social care,
- supporting foodbanks,
- increasing the number of meals on wheels deliveries,
- bringing exercise indoors.
Applications up to £500 can be made at any time and will be checked on a daily basis.
The Barclays Foundation – COVID-19 Community Aid Package
The Barclays Foundation have announced a £100 million COVID-19 Community Aid Package – The package consists of two strands. £50million will be donated to charities chosen by Barclays and £50million will be donated by matching their employees’ personal donations (individual organisations cannot apply for this funding. BBC Children in Need Covid-19 Response Grants
In response to the coronavirus, BBC Children in Need are temporarily pausing their current grant programmes to launch two new Covid-19 Response Grants to enable organisations to continue to support disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 years and under.
The funding will be open to current grantees and new applicants to help them to respond and adapt to the short, medium and longer-term impact of the coronavirus.

COVID-19 Next Steps Grant – Up to £80,000 Opening 10th June
The Next Steps programme will opened for applications from 10 June 2020.
The Next Steps programme is our response programme designed to deliver support for children and young people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible organisations will be able to apply for up to £80,000 for projects commencing in September 2020. These grants can last up to 18 months. It is designed for established organisations who are already delivering work in their communities and further afield.
We will prioritise applications from organisations that:
- Target children and young people disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic (see below). We recognise that the current crisis increases pre-existing inequalities.
- Have mission statements which focus on supporting and empowering a particular group or community experiencing disadvantage.
- Respond confidently in a local area and are best placed to do so. We want to fund organisations that have the reach and trust of the communities/communities of interest they serve.

Co-op Group Covid-19 fund to support communities
The Co-op Group has launched a Members’ Coronavirus Fund to support foodbanks, a funeral hardship fund and community causes.

Grants designed to help nursing and midwifery professionals support their living costs like rent and utility bills
Some of the money that is raised through Sport Relief 2020 will go to organisations on the frontline of the response to the Coronavirus, who are able to reach some of the most vulnerable people, likely to be affected. New £10 Million Fund for Domestic Abuse Charities (Closing date 20th July or earlier if funds are exhausted)
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has re-opened the Domestic abuse safe accommodation: COVID-19 emergency support fund. During this funding round a total of £1.85 million will be available.
The fund will help ensure that:
- Safe accommodation services can continue operating and keep bedspaces open for victims and their children fleeing from abuse during COVID-19 emergency.
- Safe accommodation services can help more victims access these life-saving services.
The Domestic abuse safe accommodation: COVID-19 emergency support fund is part of a wider £76 million fund promised to domestic violence and abuse charities to support domestic abuse safe accommodation charities.
Grants of up to £100,000 are available per individual bid. More may be available for consortium bids.

Emergency Funding to Help Young Refugees and Asylum Seekers Affected by the Coronavirus (UK)
In response to the coronavirus, Hope for the Young have launched a Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund to support vulnerable young refugees or asylum seekers up to 30 years of age who are in need of immediate financial support.
Grants of up to £250 will be available for up to twelve weeks and will be allocated on a case by case basis to help relieve social isolation and financial hardship. Funding is available to help with costs such as purchasing food, medication and toiletries, and essential utilities.
The fund is open to external applications, however, in the first instance, priority will be given to young people receiving support from the Hope for the Young who meet the fund criteria. Hope for the Young aims to respond to all applications within one week of receipt to discuss the application further.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund – Emergency Fund – Closing date 30th June
In response to the coronavirus, the Heritage Fund launched a £50 million Heritage Emergency Fund to support people and organisations working in heritage across the UK.
- a not-for-profit organisation
- a current or previous recipient of a grant directly from us
- an owner, manager or representative of heritage, or have an evidenced track record in delivering participatory heritage activity
Funding of between £50,000 and £250,000 will be available.
The Heritage Emergency Fund is short-term funding to support the immediate actions required to stabilise operations and manage unforeseen risks.
The funding can cover unavoidable costs organisations will otherwise be unable to meet for up to four months.
Organisations should only apply for essential costs. This might include independent heritage attractions that are highly dependent on visitor income, contributions towards increasing digital activities, and testing new activities to help recovery.
Applications can be made at any time from the 21st May until the 30th June 2020.
This new strand will help the fund to:
- respond to exceptional cases of larger-scale need
- protect heritage at severe immediate risk
- and, crucially, safeguard the heritage that can play a key role in the UK’s economic and community regeneration from the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19)

John Lewis new community support fund
A £1m Community Support Fund will be available to communities across the UK to help those in need in their local communities. Teams in each shop will work together with their communities to choose the best way to use the fund. Help could include setting up additional local delivery services to support the self-isolating, the vulnerable, the elderly and those looking after them; delivering boxes of staples to local care homes and community groups, and donating products to create care packages for customers to share with vulnerable neighbours.
Kennel Club Grants
Association of Mental Health Providers – Mental Health Response Fund
The Department of Health and Social Care has made £5 million available to support voluntary and community sector (VCS) mental health providers which are experiencing an increase in demand for their services due to coronavirus. Through the Coronavirus Mental Health Response Fund, small and large grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 are available to help increase mental support for people with and at risk of developing mental health problems.

This new funding stream makes available £200m in Government funding that will be aimed primarily at small to medium organisations in England.
The Fund has two key objectives:
- To increase community support to vulnerable people affected by the COVID-19 crisis, through the work of civil society organisations.
- To reduce temporary closures of essential charities and social enterprises, ensuring services for vulnerable people impacted by COVID-19 have the financial resources to operate, and so reduce the burden on public services.
Grants will allow organisations to meet service costs, where they are experiencing increased demand and/or short-term income disruption. Grants will also allow organisations to refocus services to address more immediate beneficiary needs in light of COVID-19.

NSUN Covid-19 Fund
Funding to Help Charities Deliver Better Services Through Technology (Closing date 22nd June 2020)
The Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Comic Relief have announced a new early stage strand to their joint Tech for Good programme to help charities and not-for-profit organisations deliver better services for their communities through technology.
The £230,000 Explore programme will provide grant funding of £5,000 for individual organisations or £7,500 for collaborations.
A 12-week support programme will also be provided to study the kind of digital services they might provide, and to explore how digital technology could transform the ways they work.
Support will include access to an online curriculum, one-to-one support calls, and virtual community meet-ups.
It will offer organisations the chance to:
- Identify the user need they are trying to address
- Examine whether a digital solution is the best idea
- Identify the key implications of implementing a new solution
- Design a prototype which can be tested and made ready for further development
- Look at how it might be possible to obtain funding for further work.
UK Charities and not-for-profit organisations with annual income of between £75,000 and £10 million.
Be ready to begin the 12-week programme on one of the following dates:
Cohort 1 programme start: 20th July – 9th October

Pet Rescue Funding to Support Organisations Affected by the Coronavirus
Pet rescue organisations can apply for funding to help support rescues throughout the short- and medium-term impact of the coronavirus. Through the Support Adoption for Pets Grant Programme, charities and not-for-profit organisations which rescue and rehome pets or provide temporary support to ensure pets can remain with their owners can apply for funding of up to £10,000 or up to 30% of total annual expenditure, whichever is the lower amount.
Funding must have a direct impact on animal welfare and can be used to cover vet bills, boarding costs, food, salaries of animal care staff, utilities and consumables. Priority will be given to organisations whose medium-term survival is at risk.

£5million fund entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30, grants and tailored support to maintain core business operations, as well as meet any existing financial commitments.
The Rank Foundation – Pebble Grants Programme – Currently open to applications for November Meeting
UK registered charities and recognised churches which are raising money for capital projects (building work, refurbishment or the purchase of long-term equipment) or a one-off short term activity (such as an annual respite break or holiday for disadvantaged young people) can apply for funding through the Rank Foundation – Pebble Small Grants programme.
To be eligible to apply the total project cost must be less than £150,000, the organisation must have an annual income of less than £500,000 and the organisation applying must already have raised a third of the total costs.
Applications can be submitted at any time and the Foundation is currently accepting applications for the November 2020 meeting of Trustees. Please note that the Foundation do not publish deadlines or maximum amounts as this is dependent on the number of applications received.
Organisations can only apply once every 12 months regardless of the outcome of their application.

Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund – Big Society Capital
Charities and, social enterprises in disadvantaged areas facing financial hardship and disruption to their trading due to the coronavirus will be able to apply for emergency funding from a £100 million programme of loans and investment. The emergency package is made up of a £25 million Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund to provide emergency loans with no fees or interest for the first twelve months; £29 million for smaller, emergency loans to small businesses in more deprived areas; and up to a further £50 million over the coming months for existing and future investments as needed. Applications for the Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund are expected to open in mid-April, with the first loans completed by the start of May. Further details on the programme will be available shortly.
Rosa, which is a grantmaking charity that funds grassroots women’s organisations to help to make the UK a fairer, safer place for women has announced that is making grants of up to £10,000 available to specialist womens organisations across the UK through its Covid-19 Response Fund. The purpose of this first stage response fund is to provide quick and straightforward grants with very basic eligibility criteria. Rosa particularly welcomes proposals from women’s organisations that address the critical needs of marginalised women and girls that miss out the most and operate in less economically resilient towns, cities and rural areas within the UK. There is no deadline for applications. Rosa will consider them on a rolling basis from 5pm on Friday 5th June 2020 and aim to notify applicants of the decision within approximately two weeks of submitting an application.
Sport England is Seeking to Support Innovative Projects (Closing date 24th June)
Sport England has launched a new programme to support innovative projects that reduce inequalities and help those most affected by the impact of coronavirus (Covid-19) to get active. In particular, Sport England wants to support projects from individuals and organisations specifically developed to support women, people on low incomes, people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people or people living with long-term health conditions.
Projects should address at least one of the challenges below, as they’re the most likely to be affecting our target groups:
- Changes in circumstances: when faced with change due to financial pressures or increased caring responsibilities, certain groups may no longer feel able to invest time and/or money, or may lack the headspace needed to think about, plan, or invest the effort it takes to be active.
- Mental health: certain groups of people are more likely to be experiencing new or worsening feelings of depression, stress, loneliness or anxiety, reducing their likelihood to be physically active.
- Digital exclusion: faced with a continued period of enforced social distancing or isolation, people who are unable to, or who do not have access to digital channels, may not have the opportunity to be physically active.
Successful applicants will be supported with a combination of advice, further training, insight, access to connections across the industry, and funding. The funding element of the programme will consist of a grant of up to £50,000 from a total funding pot of £1 million. There is a short application window. Sport England Launches £20 Million Community Emergency Fund (Closing date 31st July 2020)
Sport England has launched a new £20 million Fund to help sports and community organisations delivering physical activities who are experiencing short term financial hardship due to the Coronavirus crisis. This can include rent payments, utility costs, insurances, core staffing costs, etc. The types of organisations eligible to apply include local sports clubs forced to close at short notice but who are facing ongoing costs around maintenance and utility bills, and voluntary and community sector organisations who deliver or enable sport and physical activity. Awards will be between £300 and £10,000. In exceptional circumstances Sport England will consider awards of more than £10,000. Applicants should have exhausted all other government funding sources before applying to this fund. Sport England expect that the Fund will be open until the 31st July 2020.
£1 Million Crowdfunding Support for Sports Clubs and Organisations
Sport England has committed another £1 million to combating the impact of coronavirus by match funding money raised by sports clubs and community activity groups through the fundraising platform Crowdfunder.
The Crowdfunder platform is scrapping all fees for the Active Together programme and is covering transaction charges to ensure every penny raised by a club goes to them. They’re also providing a series of monthly webinars offering advice and examples of successful previous Crowdfunder projects involving sport.
Through the ‘Active Together’ partnership with Crowdfunder Sport England are matching crowd funds of up to £10,000 raised by clubs and organisations hit by the coronavirus crisis.
Clubs and organisations can sign up via the Crowdfunder website. They’ll then need to set their crowdfunding target and put in place incentives and rewards. Once 25% of the crowdfunding is met, Sport England will confirm the match funding – up to £10,000 – and can distribute the money within seven days of being raised.
To be eligible, organisations must be:
- Local sports clubs
- Charity, community, voluntary and social enterprise sector organisations that deliver sport and/or physical activity in their community – including organisations that are not solely or primarily sports organisations – for the benefit of people residing in England.
- If the application is approved, projects get match funding of up to 50% towards their initial crowdfunding target – up to a maximum of £10,000.
To receive a pledge, projects need to do two things:
- Raise at least 25% of the initial target
- Raise this from a minimum number of supporters (dependent on the size of the initial target).
Support for Theatre professionals

Thomas Pocklington Trust
Available to sight loss sector organisations which are providing critical services for the physical and emotional well-being of blind and partially sighted people in these uncertain times. Up to £10k.
Tree Challenge Fund – Deadline Extended to 30th June
Community and volunteer groups as well as Town Councils and individuals can apply for a share of £10 million for small scale tree planting projects in cities and towns across England. Launched in May 2019, the Urban Tree Challenge Fund (UTCF) aims to support the planting of more than 130,000 trees in towns and cities.
This announcement of round two opening follows the success of round one, which saw thirteen large scale projects from local authorities and large organisations awarded grants to plant more than 50,000 trees in urban areas. Due to the success of large tree planting in round one, round two will open for small tree planting only.
Any individual or organisation can submit up to 5 distinct applications to the UTCF in Round 2, each of which can contain up to 3 planting sites or projects.
The fund provides 50% of published standard costs for planting and establishment. The remaining costs of planting and establishing trees supported under the UTCF must be met through match funding, either in the form of money or labour.
The closing date for applications has been extended from the 31st May 2020 to the 30th June 2020.
Woodward Charitable Trust Grants for Small Organisations Making Good Use of Volunteers (Closing date 31st July)
The Woodward Charitable Trust primarily funds charitable organisations (charities, social enterprises and community interest companies) in the UK and can make grants for overseas projects usually via UK charities. Priority is given to projects that make good use of volunteers, encourage past and current users to participate, ensure that funds awarded are being well used and fall within the following areas:
- Arts outreach work by local groups involving disadvantaged people;
- Children and young people who are isolated, at risk of exclusion or involved in anti-social behaviour and in particular organisations that work to discourage individuals getting involved in gangs or violent behaviour;
- Disability projects, which can include rehabilitation and training for people who are either physically or learning disabled as well as charities supporting mental health issues, particularly where it relates to our other priority areas;
- Disadvantaged women and their children, covering refuges and domestic violence shelters and groups;
- Disadvantaged families including parenting support;
- Prisoners and ex-offenders and specifically projects that help the rehabilitation and resettlement of prisoners and/or ex-offenders as well as requests to help prisoners’ families;
- Projects that promote integration and community cohesion particularly amongst minority groups, refugees and traveler communities.

Yapp Charitable Trust
Small UK charities affected by the impact of COVID-19, grants up to £3k. Registered charities in England and Wales, with a total annual expenditure of less than £40k; core costs and staffing.
Yorkshire Building Society’s Charitable Foundation – Funding to Support Charities and Communities Affected by Coronavirus
The Yorkshire Building Society’s Charitable Foundation has launched a Coronavirus Response Fund to support registered charities that are helping local communities affected by the coronavirus. Funding will support groups and activities that
- Help vulnerable people who are self-isolating.
- Ensure supplies for foodbanks and organisations, in particular to alleviate the impact of children no longer receiving free school meals due to school closures.
- Help community response coordination, including volunteer costs.
- Cover additional costs of working remotely and adapting services delivered in the wider community
- Cover the loss of income for charities providing support for vulnerable groups
The £100,000 fund will make donations of between £250 and £2,000 to help with costs such as running costs, staff and travel costs, and volunteer expenses.
Priority will be given to:
- Charities that have an income of £100,000 or less.
- Charities that support the ongoing needs of vulnerable people to ensure that their health and wellbeing is maintained.
- Charities that support the ongoing needs of people suffering from poverty or those who have suffered a loss of income

Veolia Environmental Trust Grants (Closing date 3rd September 2020)
The next closing date for stage 1 applications to the Veolia Environmental Trust is the 3rd September 2020 for projects that will start between 23rd September 2020 and the 5th January 2021.
Grants of between £10,200 and £75,000 are available to constituted not for profit organisations and registered Environmental Bodies towards:
• Community buildings
• Parks and paths, play, Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs) and recreational facilities
• Nature reserves
• Bio diversity projects.
To be eligible to apply, the applicant organisation needs to be within the vicinity of a qualifying Veolia site (please see post code checker below); the projects must have a total cost of under £250,000 (including VAT and professional costs); the applicant must have secured 10% of funding towards the project prior to submitting a full (stage 2) application. https://www.veoliatrust.org/funding/
Funding for Food Aid Charities (Closing date 6th July 2020)
Grants of up to £100,000 are available to front line food aid charities that are unable to meet an increased demand for food from vulnerable individuals as a result of the Covid-19 crisis. This includes
- providing food for people that cannot afford food
- who have moved into temporary accommodation as a result of COVID-19, for example those who have left home due to domestic abuse, newly released prisoners, the newly homeless.
The funding is being made available through the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Food Charities Grant Fund.
To be eligible charities will need to show that they:
- are unable to meet an increased demand for food from vulnerable individuals or supporting charities
- have the capacity to distribute all of the food purchased under this grant by 9 August 2020
This grant is not to provide food for the extremely clinically vulnerable, who are already being supported by the government.
The closing date for applications is the 6th July 2020.

The 7stars foundation exists to support the most challenged, at-risk young people in the United Kingdom. In July The Foundation is launching an unrestricted Charity Support Fund for UK charities with a turnover of less than £1.5m, who are working with at-risk young people affected by the covid-19 crisis.
The funding will be made available across the themes of
- and for those who are supporting young child carers.
The charity is offering grants of up to £2,500, which can be used for overheads, salary costs, and/ or wherever else the organisation needs to apply the money to ensure its survival and sustainable services in the future.

Funding for Research to Better Understand the Link Between Groups, Communities and Alcohol Harm (Closing date 31st July)
Alcohol Change UK are inviting applications for their New Horizons Grants Programme for innovative and future-facing academic research on ‘Groups, Communities and Alcohol Harm’ to explore how people’s use of alcohol relates to their membership of, or identification with, groups and communities.
Funding of between £20,000 and £65,000 is available for up to four two-year research projects to explore different groups such as cultural, ethnic, religious, geographic or other social communities of interest and identity, and people diagnosed with the same condition, disorder or disease.
The aim of the Fund is to see how interpretations within a community may promote or prevent alcohol harm amongst its members.

Funding to Help Understand the Impact of Covid-19 on the Health and Social Care System (Closing date 30th September)
Funding of between £100,000 and £200,000 is available for projects of up to twelve months which seek to understand the impact of Covid-19 on the health and social care system in the UK, and to use this research to inform policy and/or service delivery decisions for the future.
The Health Foundation’s new Covid-19 Research Programme is open to suitable qualified and experienced research teams to help understand the impact of the crisis in two areas:
- how service delivery has changed,
- the impact of the virus on health inequalities and the wider effects of health.
Applications for projects from multidisciplinary teams combining expertise from a broad range of disciplines, involving patients, the public and people with lived experience are welcome.

Funding for Projects that Improve People’s Lives
The Henry Smith Charity provides grants of between £20,000 and £60,000 per year for up to three years to charitable organisations (charities and not-for-profit organisations, including social enterprises) that help people when other sources of support have failed, are inappropriate, or are simply not available.
The charity has six funding priorities that describe the work they support and how they want to bring about change for the most disadvantaged people in the greatest need. These are:
• Help at a critical moment – Helping people to rebuild their lives following a crisis, critical moment, trauma or abuse.
• Positive choices – Helping people, whose actions or behaviours have led to negative consequences for themselves and others, to make positive choices.
• Accommodation / housing support – Enabling people to work towards or maintain accommodation.
• Employment and training – Supporting people to move towards or gain employment.
• Financial inclusion, rights and entitlements – Supporting people to overcome their financial problems and ensure that they are able to claim their rights and entitlements.
• Support networks and family – Working with people to develop improved support networks and family relationships
Grants can cover running costs, salaries and project costs for organisations that can demonstrate a track record of success and evidence the effectiveness of their work. Eligible organisations include charities and not-for-profit organisations (including social enterprises) in the UK with a turnover of £50,000 – £2 million (in exceptional circumstances up to £5 million).
Applications can be submitted at any time and decisions are usually made within 6 months.
