Dog of the Week (Brownie) – Charlie Boys Angels

Dog of the Week (Brownie) – Charlie Boys Angels

In memory of Gary Smollan who passed away suddenly.

ALL ABOUT ME

Oh hi there šŸ‘‹! I heard that Charlie Boys wanted to make me dog of the week. Obviously I said yes…although I’m disappointed they didn’t ask me sooner. Anyway back to telling you all about the man, the myth, the legend…ME!

Well I’m called Brownie and I’m 4 years old. I haven’t known everyone at Charlie Boys for that long but I’ve met some good people. There’s my Aunty Karla, Aunty Lynne, Aunty Yas and Uncle Paul. They’re all alright and they are the best when they give me fuss and treats 🦓.

When I was little I lived in a place that humans call a laboratory. People did some tests on me and I don’t really know why. I know I didn’t like it and it made me scared and sad. Sometimes the tests šŸ’‰ hurt but I was lucky and was rescued from that place.

I went to live with my first dad and we became best mates and he was my hero šŸ¦øā€ā™‚ļø. We had both had hard times and my dad knew what it was like to feel sad and lonely so we understood each other. We lived in a house for some time and then times got tough and we lived in my dads car 🚘. It was then that we met my friends at Charlie Boys Angels šŸ˜‡. My Charlie Boys family made sure my dad had everything he needed for me. I got a new lead, collar and they sorted out food for me every week. When I got poorly then they paid for me to go to see a vet šŸ‘©ā€āš•ļø. I wasn’t keen on going but dad said I had to as I wasn’t well and they helped me feel better.

Once my Aunty Lynne organised for me to go and see a dog groomer to make me look pretty. I wasn’t sure about it all as the lady made me get wet and there was a loud machine that made me dry and got rid of my floof. Although it was a bit scary I did get a very smart blue bow šŸ’™for my collar and everyone said I was a handsome good boy.

Eventually my dad and I found somewhere to stay and this was good for a while. Then something really sad happened…my dad died really suddenly. I didn’t know what was happening and I stayed with a neighbour for a couple of days. My grandad knew he couldn’t look after me so he asked my Charlie Boys family to help find me somewhere to live. Because they know and ā¤ļø me they said they would help my grandad and find me somewhere I could feel safe.

So everything has changed for me now and things are looking up. I now have a new hooman mum and dad and I even have a little hooman brother. I didn’t know what to think but I now I think it’s amazing 🤩. My hooman brother is my best mate and I have a garden to play in every day. I’ve found that I like lots of new things like:

🐾 Doing zoomies

🐾 Chasing my brother

🐾 Going to visit my dog cousins

I know things have been tough and I still miss my first dad. We always looked after each other and I loved his cuddles. I won’t forget him as he helped me even when he felt sad himself and he was my best friend. I know one day I’ll see him again when I head over the 🌈 bridge. But until then I’m going to keep being a good and happy boy and I know he would be proud of me and he would be glad that I have a new family.

I know my Charlie Boys family will always be there for me, but they also have to help other people and their animals. I know they all work hard and really appreciate everyone’s support. Without you all they couldn’t help people like me and my first dad.

Anyway I’m off to do zoomies. Lots of love and tail wags Brownie ā¤ļø
