East Beach & our Second Talking Bench – Shoebury Residents Association

Southend Parks Department has just confirmed our second Solar Powered Audio Talking Bench has been installed on East Beach, next to the “Sound Mirror”. This is a concrete art sculpture to welcome people entering the Thames from the North Sea, provided through Metal by Katrina Palmer in 2021. Our Talking Bench supports this work because once Ana from our local Trust Links Charity uploads their messages, it will not only provide a connection with the excellent work they do for Mental Health, but also provide a place where residents or visitors can relax on the bench to not only enjoy the excellent views, but in the knowledge that you are willing for other members of the public to join them and share stories.

Shoebury Residents Association & our Community Builder Rob is committed to finding ways of joining the community together, which includes residents, schools, businesses, police, ward Councilors & Council. We can work with Social media, like Facebook or our website, but we also have to find a way of connecting with those residents that live alone or are isolated, lonely, disabled, suffering ill health or unable to use these options. We provide newsletters & also produce 5,000 copies of our magazine, which includes useful information and links to their shops, doctors, Libraries, Youth Centres and alike, with opening times and support telephone numbers. We are just one of over thousand charities & groups in Southend that support those less fortunate than ourselves.
