Family Support Advisor – SNAP

Family Support Advisor – SNAP

SNAP (Special Needs And Parents) supports Essex families who have children, aged 0-25, with any special need or disability. We aim to inform, encourage and support parents so that they can grow in strength and knowledge and become better equipped to give the best possible help to their children. Over the past 25 years, we have gained an in-depth understanding of the everyday demands of supporting a child with an additional need or disability. At the heart of our work we aim to help and empower the whole family, enabling them to meet the challenges they face. As a result we have developed a variety of services in response to the needs of local families.

Working as part of the family team, the Family Support Adviser’s role is varied and encompasses informing, encouraging and supporting families to help them gain the knowledge, skills, emotional strength and confidence to pursue the best options for their child/young person. Whether providing face to face support, attending group sessions, sending phone and email correspondence or welcoming families into the Centre, your main objective is to support the delivery of the best outcomes for our families.
