Friends of the Earth South East Essex Update

United for Warmer Homes campaign

With rising energy bills and the need to tackle climate change turning our attention to the need to insulate our homes, we plan to work together with Southend Council, food banks, housing groups, climate activists and other local community groups to build powerful coalitions that force our government to take decisive action on the energy crisis. We will also be providing information to people who would like to make their energy bills affordable and to insulate their homes.

Green Space Street Project- Prittlewell, Southend on Sea

South East Essex Friends of the Earth (SEEFOE) are in the early stages of carrying out a community project in Prittlewell ward to identify street spaces where trees, shrubs or other plants could be planted to create a greener biodiverse area. We want to work in partnership with the council, residents, and other community groups. Volunteers will identify street green verge areas where a tree/shrub or other plant could be placed. SEEFOE will share this data with the council with the aim of getting more greenery planted in the area by 2024. We will review the project and, if successful, plan to extend it to other local areas.
