28 Mar Good News Stories from our Community Builders (20th March to 2nd April) – SAVS
Chiquitta Bruce, Milton – Sponsored by Milton Community Partnership
The Community Builders were invited to attend the International Womens Day event held at Southend’s Park Inn hotel and hosted by Welcome to the UK. The event saw an array of women from all walks of life, from countries near and far all come together to listen and talk about their experiences and challenges faced either coming to the Uk or those adverse events that have shaped them into becoming the women they are now by overcoming or learning to live with those challenges. We also heard from the High Sheriff of Essex who explained the role he’s in is now more evenly balanced with women and that was something to be celebrated. The room saw a selection of different organisations such as the Community Builders spreading the word about the different help and support out there.
Chquitta said, “Overall, the event was a huge community success and a celebration of grand achievements.”
