16 Nov Help bring a little Christmas cheer
Since March 2019 Hello Life have been helping people over the age of 60 in the Southend Borough that are experiencing loneliness and isolation.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, like all services, our hands have been somewhat tied but we have supported our clients as much as possible with telephone befriending, social distance garden visits, help with completing forms and referrals to other services.
As we continue into the second lockdown, we are continuing to support our clients as much as possible and are recruiting volunteers to help with telephone befriending and hopefully, soon, where possible social distance visits.
As the Christmas season approaches, which is looking to be a lot different for everybody this year, it will be a particularly lonely time for those Hello Life clients that are already experiencing loneliness and isolation.
To help bring a little Christmas cheer and a ‘we are thinking of you’ message we would like to send each client a Christmas card and small gift. We are asking for your help in providing a gift costing just a few pounds, this could be anything from chocolates/biscuits to cosy socks/gloves. Perhaps it could be an item you purchase with your weekly shop and donate to Hello Life at South Essex Advocacy Services. The gift will be wrapped by us and hand delivered during December.
We really would appreciate your help in this small but thoughtful act that really does make a difference to those people spending Christmas and the lockdown period alone.
If you would like to help provide this lovely gift or would like more information please contact Lisa Bartlett, the Hello Life Co Ordinator, on 07436 283701.
