03 Nov Hope Hotel helps charity with donation for equipment – Southend in Sight
Southend in Sight welcomes owner and manager of hotel to Centre
Southend in Sight were delighted to receive a visit from the manager Jon Duckfield and owner George Sammut of The Hope Hotel on Southend’s seafront on Friday 22 October.
Mr Sammut has made a donation to the charity of £2000 to purchase equipment for its Resources Centre in Hamlet Court Road. The money will go towards purchasing lanyards, bold pens, bump-on stickers for marking settings on domestic appliances, signature guides for signing forms and an Optelec Smart Reader HD for enlarging text and giving higher contrasts and easier viewing. The smaller items will form part of the essential resource pack the charity offers anyone who is new to its services, and the electronic reader can be demonstrated to clients visiting the Centre for an appointment.
Southend in Sight CEO Lucy Martin met George and Jon and thanked them for their generous donation and also volunteer Gary England for helping make the connection between the charity and the local business.
Lucy said “We can’t carry out our vital work without people giving back to their local community and The Hope Hotel’s generous donation will make a real difference. We are extremely grateful for their support.”
