Looking for something new? Be a Brownie leader!

Girlguiding is the leading UK charity for girls and young women.  With guiding girls have fun, adventure, and the space to discover their potential. They might go to their first ever sleepover, canoe on rivers, learn about body confidence, and lead their own camp. Or sometimes they simply have fun and try new things with friends.

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. And to make a difference to the world around them.

At the heart of guiding are our unit meetings, which girls go to each week. When you volunteer at meetings prepare to have fun, meet great people and help run activities that inspire our members to discover their potential.

If you volunteer with us, you can choose to work with girls in Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Rangers. However, in Eastwood right now we especially need volunteers for our Brownie groups which meet on Wednesday at 6pm and Thursday at 5:30pm. Brownies are aged 7 to 10. You can find out more about these roles here.  If you would prefer to work with one of our other age groups, please do get in touch anyway!

If you would like to know more, you can register on our national website or contact the local commissioner . There are similar roles available throughout Essex South East, so if you like the sound of this and don’t live in Eastwood, you can still use the same contact information.
