National Fitness Day – Southend Borough Council

National Fitness Day will take place on Wednesday 22 September.  It will highlight the role physical activity plays, helping raise awareness of its importance in helping people lead healthier lifestyles through being physical active.  Below are some of the ways to take part on the day.

Energie Fitness, based along Southend High Street, are offering the following on this date:

Free gym and fitness classes.

‘Beat the trainer’ challenge, involving various exercises.  Prizes are available.

The Southend Health Walk Scheme is helping people lead a more active lifestyle. Our group walks are short, over easy terrain, with trained volunteers on hand to provide support.

  • 11:15am Tuesday – meet at Shoeburyness Hotel High Street Shoeburyness
  • 11:00am Wednesday – meet at Jocelyns Beach behind Chalkwell Train Station
  • 1:15pm Thursday – meet outside the café in Priory Park
