09 Jun Relay 2022 – Focal Point Gallery
Focal Point Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of ‘Relay 2022’, a project first initiated in 2021 to the platform and support the work of local artists in a paid opportunity across our digital platforms every two weeks from 30th May to 11th July 2022.
Each artist is invited to share original work, research, or work in progress which will be displayed digitally in the form of a one-minute video across Big Screen Southend, Focal Point Gallery’s website and social media channels. The content for this programme includes original creative material that demonstrates the broad and diverse nature of artist disciplines across Southend.
Each participating artist then in turn are asked to nominate another Southend-based practitioner to feature in the programme. This year’s ‘Relay’ will feature three rounds and total of nine artists, beginning with multidisciplinary artist Mary Lodge, storyteller Hannah Brailsford and visual artist Victoria Sills. The next round of nominated artists are Daisy Hamlin, Trigger Bliss and Peter Haugh.
