We have a rewarding opportunity available for a Safe Accommodation DAP/IDVA to join our team based in Southend-on-Sea.  You will join us on a full time, fixed term contract basis working 37.5hrs per week including some evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Safe Steps provides early intervention, advocacy, support, crisis intervention, emergency accommodation, therapeutic and recovery services to survivors of domestic abuse in the City of Southend-on-Sea and delivers training to the wider community.

We are looking for a Safe Accommodation DAP/IDVA to join us and work within a dynamic team, providing high quality safe accommodation and support to women, men and children who have experienced domestic abuse, with a victim centred approach, focusing on safety and recovery.  This post will work integrally with Safe Steps and South Essex Homes.

You will ensure survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment to support them stabilise, gain independence and wellbeing. Complete assessments of risk and needs, regularly reviewing safety and support plans as well supporting their moves into the community. Participation in the on-call rota is essential.

Knowledge of housing and homelessness law would be advantageous.

Location: Office based in Westcliff-on-Sea but will be required to travel to sites across the City of Southend-on-Sea.

This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and open to women only. Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), Part 1 (Occupational Requirements) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week to include occasional weekends and evenings.

Salary: NICVA Scale 4 (Non IDVA) or NICVA Scale 5 (IDVA) £21,748 – £24,012

Annual leave: Commencing at 25 days per annum (plus 8 bank holidays)
