Southend East Primary Care Network Stakeholder Update

Southend East Primary Care Network Stakeholder Update

As the residents of Shoebury will know, Southend East has been providing Covid vaccines to the patients in our area for almost a year. The service has run smoothly and efficiently for almost 12 months and many of you reading this will have received your first, or second doses there and we thankyou for making the effort, sometimes in the very cold, and sometimes in unusually hot conditions! We believe we have helped contribute to the saving of many lives through this important vaccine programme.

Due to the Salvation Army resuming services from their hall, the clinics will be relocating to another local site which is still easily accessible for the local population. We have now moved to the following address and will be hosting our first clinic there on Wednesday 6th October 2021.

Norton Place,
162 Ness Road,
Shoeburyness,
SS3 9DL

Outside Norton Place, there are around 20 car parking spaces for patients use. These are directly after the front gate and patients will walk up the path to the vaccine centre past the smaller care home, “Autumn Lodge”, on their left. Patients will not be able to park past the initial parking area due to health, safety and fire risks and also emergency access. We encourage all patients, visitors and staff to respect this arrangement. We will have stewards directing cars and patients in high visibility jackets so if anyone has any queries, there is always someone on hand to help. After patients have been vaccinated, they will be waiting in the vaccine room for 15 minutes, under the guidance to be observed for any reactions. Exit will be through this main room around the back of the building and then exiting following the direction signs.

We have had some amazing feedback from residents and local services this past year, and we hope to create the same happy and safe atmosphere that people experienced the first-time round. If anyone has any queries about the vaccine they contact their registered GP and if necessary, the question will be directed to the Southend East PCN team.

We are looking forward to welcoming you into the new venue here at Norton Place very soon!
