Special 2020 Christmas decoration

Special 2020 Christmas decoration

WANTED: knitters/crochet/ crafters: We are looking for the help of our voluntary sector to help us spread the word.

This campaign follows on from a successful campaign earlier in the year that saw us create a video in tribute to our amazing community that has been since viewed over 77k times and big thank you campaign across our health and care partnership.

We are working on a festive idea to encourage more thanks, recognition and praise for the incredible people working and volunteering to keep residents safe in these crazy times.  As you can imagine, particularly as winter draws in, staff are pretty exhausted, morale is low and lots are sacrificing time with their loved ones this Christmas to look after the wider community.

THE IDEA: We want to encourage people to make a special 2020 Christmas decoration in honour of someone that has helped them during COVID-19 – it could be an angel dedicated to someone for the NHS, a social worker or carer supporting people in our care  homes..  or perhaps a neighbour that has helped them when they’ve needed to shield/  a volunteer who might have helped delivered medication etc or even a friend that has been on the other end of the phone to help them through difficult times.  I’m sure you get the picture.. so many people, so many amazing acts of kindness and compassion to celebrate this year.

We don’t want to be prescription about how people so this but will be looking at developing to assets to inspire people..

We are REALLY KEEN to rally our local knitting/crochet armies to help make little people that they can dedicate to someone who has helped them get through 2020.

We want to then encourage them to share all their photos with use and we will push them out through all of our social media/wider communications channels. Hashtag TBC!

Are you able to help us, by getting the below message out to your various networks?? Feel free to play around with the words.
