HARP is a growing Southend-on-Sea based Charity working to prevent homelessness and help vulnerable and socially excluded people to transform their lives. Each day our staff and volunteers work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness, such as poor mental health or drug and alcohol dependency. From supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to over 1,000 lives every year.

As a charitable registered provider of short-term social housing operating in Southend-on-Sea, we believe everyone should have a home of their own. At times individuals may require support from HARP and other agencies to maintain a tenancy and avoid a return to homelessness.

We are looking for an energetic and engaging Team Manager who is ambitious, positive and forward thinking to join the HARP housing management team and lead on the development and growth of HARP’s Complex Needs Supported Housing service in Southend-on-Sea. Reporting to the Complex Needs Specialist Service Manager for Housing (High Needs), the ideal candidate will have: 

  • An understanding of and substantial experience of working face to face with vulnerable and complex people

  • Substantial experience working in the homelessness field sector or supported housing environments

  • Experience in leading, managing and developing staff

  • Ability to establish trust and maintain a good rapport with residents when carrying out advice/support work; including the ability to identify and raise concerns regarding safeguarding

  • Ability to stay focused and efficient in the face on changing priorities     

  • Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and partnership working

Salary: Point 26 – 31: £33,909 to £38,261

Location: Southend-on-Sea

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week.
