Southend Business Partnership (SBP) Briefing – 25 November

With the official launch of the Southend & Thurrock Careers Hub and the Kickstart programme going from strength to strength, we will be hosting a virtual session on 25 November for our next SBP briefing. Speaking at the event we have Ros Parker – Principal at Southend Adult Community College; Hyla Grimwade – South Essex Careers Hub Lead and Karen Rollings – Employer Engagement and Skills Team Leader at DWP. Participants will hear the outcomes of the 18-25s review, as well as from a young person about their aspirations (volunteer tbc).

Making Your Business Digital – 30 November

Throughout the COVID pandemic, the powers of internet and digital technology have been magnified. For businesses of today, be it a retailer or a service provider, it is essential to make your business digital to ensure its success. Southend-on-Sea Borough Council Economic Development Team is pleased to offer this bespoke session for any Southend businesses to learn more about being digital, using cloud, API and making the most of the technologies. Businesses from outside of the borough are also welcome to join.

The online session will be delivered on 30 November at 4-5pm by the popular guest speaker Sam Hussain, Digital Engagement Manager at Barclays Business. The event is free to attend but prior registration at Eventbrite is essential.

Apprenticeship Information for Employers – 1 December

With the ever-increasing support available for the national scheme, it is sometimes daunting for businesses/employers to know where to start. If you think your business could benefit from an apprenticeship (both new or existing staff) then please join us at this short myth busting session on 1 December, 9 -10:30am. The Economic Development Team at Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, along with South Essex College and Essex County Council, will provide you all the information that you require for your particular needs.
